COS Annual Meeting 2025 SAP: “Building blocks” for outreach eye care –  Translating models in Eye Care Delivery

This in-person course is offered at the COS Annual Meeting in Vancouver, BC. Registered participants can access the required pre- and post-test for the self-assessment program here, by logging into their COS account. Please note that pre-registration is required. This workshop will focus on the challenges and barriers that can prevent the implementation of environmentally-sound eye care services, and will provide participants with a toolkit of recommendations for actions to be taken to address environmental issues in both clinical and surgical settings.  It will include demonstrations of successful initiatives that are currently using environmentally-sound eye care services delivery. There will also be discussions on how to replicate and expand upon these successes in sustainable and environmentally-sound eye care delivery.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Assess the issues linked to eye care delivery in both Canada and globally;  

2. Understand the challenges and barriers to implement eye care services delivery in remote areas and underserved communities ;

3. Explore initiatives that have achieved better equity in eye care services delivery.
