L\u2019excellence exige le respect des plus hautes normes d\u2019\u00e9thique dans toutes les activit\u00e9s professionnelles, y compris le marketing et la publicit\u00e9. Nous avons pour principe directeur que le bien-\u00eatre des patients est primordial. Une publicit\u00e9 est \u00e9thique quand elle informe et sensibilise le patient, quand elle ne cr\u00e9e pas de confusion ou qu\u2019elle n\u2019induit pas en erreur, et lorsqu\u2019elle renforce \u2013 sans s\u2019y substituer \u2013 une discussion compl\u00e8te entre le patient et le chirurgien. Rien ne remplace des conseils aux patients, qui peuvent uniquement \u00eatre prodigu\u00e9s dans un contexte personnalis\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La SCO et la SCCMECR sont d\u2019avis que, lorsqu\u2019elle prend la forme d\u2019information destin\u00e9e aux patients, la publicit\u00e9 est r\u00e9gie par les lignes directrices et politiques en mati\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9thique qui couvrent l\u2019information aux patients, y compris les lignes directrices des ordres provinciaux de m\u00e9decins et chirurgiens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En particulier, nous sommes d\u2019accord avec l\u2019American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) sur le fait qu\u2019une bonne information destin\u00e9e aux patients&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Est claire, pr\u00e9cise, \u00e0 jour et compl\u00e8te;<\/li><li>\u00c9vite les d\u00e9clarations trompeuses;<\/li><li>N\u2019est pas exag\u00e9r\u00e9e et ne cr\u00e9e pas d\u2019attentes irr\u00e9alistes chez les patients;<\/li><li>Sert de tremplin pour une discussion verbale avec le patient.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>La SCO et la SCCMECR recommandent que leurs membres respectent ces normes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous sommes \u00e9galement d\u2019accord avec la d\u00e9claration commune de l\u2019American Academy of Ophthalmology, de l\u2019American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS) et de l\u2019International Society of Refractive Surgery of the American Academy of Ophthalmology intitul\u00e9e <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aao.org\/about\/policies\/guidelines-refractive-surgery-advertising\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Guidelines for Refractive Surgery Advertising Policy<\/a> et recommandons que nos membres en tiennent compte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aucun ensemble de lignes directrices ne peut pr\u00e9voir toutes les pr\u00e9tentions ou expressions publicitaires possibles.
