The INSIGHT Cornea Program, chaired by Dr. Bruce Jackson, consists of five modules developed by respected Canadian corneal specialists, Drs. K. Baig, C. Chan, J. Choremis, R. Ritenour, and G. Rocha, in partnership with the Canadian Ophthalmological Society and with an unrestricted grant from Allergan. INSIGHT is an accredited program developed after extensive consultations and a needs-assessment sent to ophthalmologists across Canada asking for topics they would like discussed in cornea and external disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three topics were identified for development: Ocular Surface Disease, Corneal Ulcers, and Anterior Segment Lumps and Bumps. Because of the frequency and scope of corneal ulcers, three separate modules were developed around this topic\u2013 Bacterial, Viral (including Herpes and Adenovirus), and Immunologic \u2013 with and without systemic disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CPD Credits<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society. Physicians may claim a maximum of 1.5 Section 1 credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through an agreement between the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) and the American Medical Association (AMA), physicians may convert Royal College MOC credits to AMA PRA Category 1 Credits\u2122. Information on the process to convert Royal College MOC credit to AMA credit can be found on the AMA web site under Agreement with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the learning activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INSIGHT was co-developed with Allergan and was planned to achieve scientific integrity, objectivity, and balance. The use of the partner logo is ethically permissible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
