The 4th issue of the 2022 Video Journal of Cataract, Refractive, & Glaucoma Surgery is out! Given the tremendous interest in Flange techniques developed by Brazilian surgeon Dr. Sergio Canabrava, the entire program is devoted to this new surgical procedure. By eliminating suturing for intraocular devices and dislocated intraocular lenses, the ophthalmic surgeon has a powerful new weapon in our surgical armamentarium.

Health for All Film Festival: Call for entries for short films on vision and eye care & ear and hearing care

Dear Colleagues The call for submissions for the 4th Edition of the WHO Health for All Film Festival (HAFF) is now open until 31 January 2023! The HAFF aims to celebrate the art of short films as a means of raising awareness and promoting global health issues. WHO invites all video artists and video creators from all over the world to submit their short documentaries, fiction or animation films of three to eight minutes for the categories of better health and well-being and Universal Health Coverage in the context of vision and eye care and/or ear and hearing care. COS 2022 Lion’s Lair – Video Now Available For Download
Do you Dare Enter the Lions’ Lair? COS 2022 The Lions of Canadian Ophthalmology gathered on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Halifax Convention Centre to judge three research presentations related to retinal disease. Dr. Steve Houston delivered a keynote lecture on The future is now: Advances in digital health and technology. The Innovation in Retina Research Award was offered by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society (COS) with the support of Bayer Inc. for clinical trainees (residents or fellows) for a research project proposal related to retinal disease, with preference being given to those using digital innovations in optimizing patient care and screening.

Video – Orbis Speaker Series: Experiences and Opportunities in International Eye Health

For this special Orbis Speaker Series event, we teamed up with the Canadian Council of Ophthalmology Residents (CCOR). Dr. Hunter Cherwek dives into the world of our Orbis Volunteer Faculty and discusses his personal experiences throughout his incredible career.
