COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course provides a comprehensive overview of systemic diseases with corneal involvement. It emphasizes clinical reasoning through case-based learning and highlights both classic and atypical presentations. Participants will explore how systemic conditions manifest at the ocular surface. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped to recognize systemic influences in a variety of presentations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Understand the mechanisms by which systemic diseases affect the cornea
- Recognize the spectrum of ocular manifestations across genetic, metabolic, dermatologic, and endocrine disorders.
- Identify key diagnostic tools and clinical patterns that link systemic conditions to findings on the cornea.
- Review strategies for managing ocular involvement in systemic disease, including both medical and surgical approaches.
