Ocular surface disease (OSD) is a common yet often underdiagnosed comorbidity in glaucoma.  OSD negatively impacts patient adherence, quality of life, and surgical outcomes, making its management a crucial aspect of glaucoma care. A structured, stepwise approach—including environmental modifications, preservative-free treatments, immunomodulators, and procedural alternatives—can optimize both ocular surface health and glaucoma control, ultimately improving patient outcomes. This module will present a step by step, evidence-based approach that can be considered for the management of OSD in glaucoma patients.

Course Objectives

  1. Explore the clinical significance of OSD in glaucoma patients.
  2. Identify important factors contributing to OSD among glaucoma patients.
  3. Understand key strategies to reduce the effects of OSD minimize OSD risk in glaucoma patients.
  4. Introduce a proposed algorithm for the management of OSD in glaucoma.
