Rocky Mountain Eye Conference

The Annual Rocky Mountain Eye Conference presented by the Eye Physicians and Surgeons Association of Alberta will be held January 31 – February 2, 2020 in Banff, Alberta at the Rimrock Hotel. Dr. Dale Heuer will be the invited speaker for this year’s meeting.

This conference hosts a program for ophthalmologists and a program for technicians and administrative staff.

CPD Credits

The Rocky Mountain Eye Conference (2020) is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1), as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and was approved by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society. Physicians may claim a maximum of 7.25 hours.

Through an agreement between the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert Royal College MOC credits to AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Toronto Cataract Course

This year’s Toronto Cataract Conference (TCC) will be held on February 22, 2020 at the Westin Harbour Castle.

This year’s conference focuses around Dr. Tom Oetting, one of the most well-known cataract educators in the world. Known for his cataract surgery videos and resident teaching, Dr. Oetting will bring his highly innovative and interactive case-based format to the TCC program. A candid review of innovations in cataract surgery will be a highlight, as well as medico-legal aspects of cataract/IOL care. TCC will cover relevant and topical issues in cataract surgery, including new technology, challenges and complications and debates! TCC always strive to present the most important and practical topics in cataract surgery today.

The technician program is tailored to office and allied medical personnel and promises to increase knowledge and expertise to make clinic and surgery run smoother, efficiently and improve outcomes.

The Senior Resident’s Program will take place on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 6:30 PM.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD), Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME), a subcommittee of the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS). This standard allows CPD to review and assess educational activities based on the criteria established by The College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. As a result of a reciprocal agreement between the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, The American Medical Association, and The European Union for Medical Specialties (EUMS), CPD is permitted to assign respective credits.

2020 World Ophthalmology Congress

The 37th meeting of the World Ophthalmology Congress, WOC 2020, which will take place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 26–29 June 2020.
