The CCI Live Series: Managing Complicated Cataract Surgeries has been co-developed with the Canadian Cataract Institute (CCI) and the Canadian Ophthalmological Society to provide a Section 3: Self-Assessment accredited educational opportunity for Canadian cataract surgeons.
This section of the CCI Live Series is a case-based program featuring three complicated cases that were selected by planning committee. Their expert consensus indicates that the cases are not normally seen in day-to-day surgery, giving participants some key insight into how to manage uncommon situations.
In this program, participants will review 3 topics:
- Managing a Posterior Capsular Rupture During Cataract Surgery
- Loose Zonules of Pseudoexfoliation
- Intraoperative Malignant Glaucoma
This program addresses the Medical Expert, Collaborator, Leader and Scholar CanMEDS Roles.
This online module is an Accredited Self-Assessment Program (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society on 15/03/18 and expires 03/21.
